Q: How to use the thermal printer?

A: Connect the printer with the power cable, install papers, connect the printer to a computer via USB cable included, and then install the printer driver on the computer. Print a test page to make sure the hardware functions correctly. (If the printer can’t print from cash register software, it is advised to log out of the system and log in again).

Q: What to do if the printer can’t print a test page after the driver is installed?

A: Please check if the USB port is selected in the driver. Go to control panel – Devices & Printers, right click the printer icon and click “Printer Properties”, then switch to the Ports Tab to check if the selected printer port type matches the connection that is currently in use. If the USB port is in use, manually assign a USB port that is not occupied to the printer to solve the issue.

Q: What to do if the printer prints blank pages?

A: Check whether the thermal paper is installed properly. You can run your fingernail firmly across the paper to see if it leaves a black scratch. Make sure that the side with the mark is installed face down.

Q: What to do if the thermal paper is installed properly, but the scanner still prints blank pages?

A: Check whether the thermal paper is damp. Try another new paper roll, if the printing is still blank, wipe the printhead, where the copper sheet is, with a rubbing alcohol damped cloth. If it doesn’t work, please contact Tera.

Q: How to print a self-test page?

A: Turn off the printer. Press and hold FEED button, turn on the printer, release the FEED button once the red light turns off.

Q: What is the size of thermal paper for the printer?

A: Maximum paper width is 58mm. Valid print width is 48mm.

Q: How to connect a mobile phone to the printer via Bluetooth?

A: Please download our APP if you are using iOS system and pair the two devices from the APP. You can pair the devices via Bluetooth without launching apps if you’re using Android system.

Questions & Answers

Q: How to fix the issue of both the LED indicators remaining red.

A: Try to wipe the printhead and sensor with alcohol-damped cloth. If the status remains the same, try to print a test page. If it doesn’t work, contact custom service for factory repair.

Q: How to fix the issue of garbled text printing after the installation is done.

A: Check if the printer is in hexadecimal printing mode and you have mistaken the hexadecimal contents as garbled text. Typically, a restart will solve the problem mentioned. If a restart doesn’t work, it is advised to determine if the driver is correct. A garbled printing will appear when using drivers from other brand printers.

Q: Why the paper is not fed or there are weird noises when I press FEED button?

A: It is likely that the motherboard or the printhead malfunctions. Please contact Tera.

Q: Fail to install the driver and there is no error code or message.

A: If the automatic driver installation fails because of some system services shutting down, it is advised to install the driver manually.
