If 2.5″ and 3.5″ IDE hard drives are connected simultaneously, you need to set jumper. The default master is 2.5″ IDE hard drive, set jumper for 3.5″ IDE hard drive and set it to slave

Why my hard drive is not recognised?

1. Recommended formatting the hard disk in exFAT format and can be used under Windows, MacOS systems.

2. Check the disk manager whether the hard disk has been assigned a drive letter, right-click – change the drive name and path – add – add a letter

Does not recognize the drive letter?

Be sure to connect the USB 3.0 on the back of the desktop, and try changing the USB port of the notebook; Correctly assign the drive letter in Disk Management; Please repartition and format the new hard disk or monitor hard disk

My drive died or was damaged in my previous computer. Will it work with this adapter?

This adapter is the equivalent of plugging in the drive directly into your computer’s IDE or SATA port. If the drive was damaged to the point where it does not work when plugged directly into the computer, it will not work with this adapter.

How do I get Windows 10 to read my external hard drive?

Right-click Start, open Disk Management;

Check if the external hard drive. if it doesn’t appear in This PC window, it should appear here as a Removable volume;

Click drive’s partition, select Change Drive Letter and Paths, to change drive letter

I set my IDE drive’s jumper to the master set, but it still doesn’t show up on my computer

Usually, you will have to set the jumper to master, but depending on the specific drive and the specific setting of the computer, you may have to set it to cable select
